March Madness!!
This year I filled out a bracket with Becky and company. Of course I have Illinois taking the whole thing. How can I not? How can I not being a product of 2 Illini & having been born in Urbana-Champagne. Woohoo. This 'Break' has been a blast with day trips to Mexico for sports betting, Thursday through Sunday basketball viewing at various Sports Bars (The Oggi's in North County being our favorite thus far), Indian Casino visiting, working out, outlet mall shopping and various other fun activities.

I picked my Dad up from the airport Wednesday night and he was ableto join us for an afternoon/evening of bball at Oggi's. It was great. I can't wait for the West Virginia/Louisville & Illinois/Arizona games! Go Mountaineers (Blaine)!! Go Illini!!

Hope your March is fabulous too!

Today Blaine and I spent the day looking for the Fugitive in San Diego. We started off by following a few leads. It was fun, however they never give any specific enough clues. I picked up on the fact that the big 3 was part of Vons, Albertsons and Ralphs immediately. I remembered it from when their workers were on strike.

Sunday Blaine and I went to Horton Plaza in downtown SD. We got great free parking and checked out the mall. At about 2pm we were starved and McDonald's was sounding really good to the both of us since we hadn't had it in so long. Anyway, after shopping we signed up for the couples deal at 24 hour fitness. We had been looking for a more convenient gym to go to.

That evening we worked out at the Rancho Penasquito Sport location. It looks like an old grocery store converted into a 'gym.' Turned off but its sterile cave like appearance, it is nothing like what we have been used to! The ARC (our old gym at SDSU is so much nicer!) I can't even begin to describe how much nicer it is... better machines, more spacious, more machines, cleaner, they provide towels, bigger bathrooms, cleaner bathrooms, updated equipment, automatic toilet flushers, automatic flaucets, auto paper towel despenser... (SO YOU BASICALLY DON"T HAVE TO TOUCH ANYTHING IN THE RESTROOM), big locker room, you don't have to bring an ID card because they have a hand scan indentification thing instead.... they don't have Blaine's chest machines. The nice thing was we ran into Chris and Sonia, therefore resulting my new Group X class workout buddy. We went to turbokick together Monday afternoon. It was a fast-paced class & quite tiring! Tomorrow we're trying hip hop class. Anyway, Blaine and I being so disappointed with the Ranco Pen 24 hour decided to drive around to the other San Diego ones near by. We checked out Balboa Sport which had terrible parking and seemed like a cave inside. Bad ventilation, low ceilings, not enough mirrors, white light, white noise... just a bad workout environment. At that point we were getting worried and wondering if we should exercise our right to cancel within 3 business days and go back to our other gym.

So we then made it to Kevin's for dinner which was really good by the way. He made 2 types of shrimp and we brought over pasta and an apple pie & ralph! After dinner Blaine and I left Ralph to play with Addy and then proceeded to check out the Escondido Sport. It was our last hope.

Fortunately, it was nicer ... the equipment was comparable to the ARC and space was more open. Yay! A decent 24 hour. So we've decided to keep our memberships. I can do my group X classes with Sonia, workout anywhere I want with the option of using a decent gym. PLUS I have 4 personal training sessions with my membership, so we'll see how that goes.
