My weekend update: On Saturday I made it to the Commotion by the Ocean Del Mar fair. We dubbed the outing as "Canon Elph Party" because we all own canon digital elphs. My mom and Kevin have the s400 (4.0 megapixels) whereas I have the s230 (3.2pegapixels). We managed to take a variety of barn yard farm animal photographs. Bulls have large... nevermind. I got to see a baby piggy, it was so cute I had to make an avi movie file of it. Anyhow, I also managed to win 2 gold fish with the help of Kevin-SD. I also got two stuffed toys as consolation prizes on my own. My mother, Kevin and I named the goldfish Cookies and Cream. They're very loud at night, blowing bubbles on the top of the tank. I would say that they keep me up at night, but being an insomniac makes that claim invalid.

Amanda (arizona) is in town this week, she came for surf camp. Marie, UC Davis blondeee girl is also in town this week visiting her boyfriend. I made plans with her today. We're going to meet at UTC mall to catch up. I haven't seen her since I graduated at Davis last year! I better remember my camera.

Chris is going to make it home for a couple days seeing as it is July 4th week. That reminds me, Legally Blonde is premiering on my birthday, July 2nd.

Sunday: I spent the latter part of the day trying to return a phone call, unsuccessfully I might add. I must say that I made quite an effort trying to 'possibly' call this person back. For those of you who have not heard my current voice mail greeting it ends with "possibly I will get back to you." Everyone comments on that when they leave a message... Anyway, back to my 'returning an important call' endeavor, to make a long story short, I was left with the wrong number [i know because i tried it] and have been calling another number [from my cell phone's caller id] which I hope is now correct. I can't tell whether the number is correct because the voice mailbox is one of the voice automated greetings, not personalized. So, if it is the wrong number, I left a message on someone else's phone. To top that off, I was in a wishy washy, ~should I leave a message since this might not be the right number~ state of mind that one of the times I actually left a rather strange message. I don't quite remember what I said, I just know that I said it with lightening speed like I was in a race (i think possibly out of breath), paused and said bye awkwardly. haha... Do you ever wish you could erase a message? yeah..... thats how that one felt. Embarrassingly yet humorously suspenseful wondering whether the second number I have been dialing sporadically through the afternoon is right.

It is nearly 4am, and I need to wake up in a matter of hours to get my shit done so that I can spend an enjoyable carefree afternoon with my friend! But hey, thats the story of my life. Sleep is a neccessity that I love but have unfortunately turned into a scant to come by luxury.

Oh my, Cookies is starting to float on his side. I certainly hope I won't wake up to only one live fish tomorrow morning. Actually, Cookies looks dead to me now. I liked my beta Zues much better. He was gorgeous and he use to go into fighting stance every time I put a mirror up to him. I bought Zues freshman year and he survived with me until junior year. The goldfish eat these wimpy flakes whereas the Betas eat these blood meal pellets. If Cream dies too, I'm going to get a Beta, these goldfish are weak. I can't believe one died already. Disappointing.

I went to watch Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, yes opening day, what can I say I had to go support the ass kicking gals. I waited years for the first one to come out. It was entertaining of course, the girls had fun making the film and it really shows on screen. They're independent women, lookers and the real charm is they don't take themselves seriously. After the fast-paced Angels, we noticed that The Hulk was just starting, so we went to that screening as well, perfect timing we thought. Apparently NOT! The incredible flop is one of the worst slow paced, broken story, boring, talentless movies I have ever suffered through. If you took a shot for every time I rolled my eyes or checked my watch you would either be drunk or have holes running through your body. I contemplated leaving several times, but about 1 hour into the movie, we had to chuckle at the absurdity of a giant green cartooned hulk bouncing around in the desert. At certain points it was so painful to watch that I could actually feel time stop. My mind kept thinking "please get there faster." I was already not expecting much from that film, but I didn't think it could actually sink to that level. What were the people at Marvel comics & Universal pictures thinking??? And Ang Lee!!!?? Come on -disappointing. How do you go from directing Oscar worthy Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon to Big Green Giant? What are they smoking?

I drove to SDSU's campus to take a look and since they do not have a formal orientation geared towards Grad students I walked the campus with my mother. I had a lot of questions on my mind but basically I got a lot of 'run around' answers. No one from the Library, Computer Labs, Cashier's Office, Information Booths, knew answers to any of my questions. It reminded me of college campus bureaucracy bullshit. All schools are disoragnized, yet I don't recall UC Davis being this bad. The only man who seemed to take command of what he was doing was the man at the Registrar's Office. Dispite my disappointment in the school's various offices I was able to get a lot done. I purchased a course catalogue and Fall class schedule, got my photo taken for a student ID, paid my tuition, got to know the campus. I attempted to set up my e-mail address but was told that I need to wait until classes start for that. SDSU's main campus has a real urban feel to it. It is so different from UC Davis. Being there made me miss Davis. The atmosphere in Davis is much more inviting and homey.. it has a real college feel to it. And it is great how all of Davis pretty much revolves around the university. Anyway... my beds looks mighty inviting. Sleep sounds appealing...

I just read that Smallville Season 1 is coming out on DVD in September!!! Awesome! I hope its true. That is going on the top of my want list!! I still haven't seen the pilot episode.

The pain in my neck is not gone. However, I did not allow it to ruin my perfect day. After Sunday brunch I drove my mother to Fashion Valley where we had a full day of shopping. I bought so much clothes. I had not gone on a shopping spree for clothes in a while. I got a with terry cloth Guess jacket, a velour XOXO zipper vest top, 2 velour jackets, 1 pair of velour pants, 1 pair of velour shorts, 1 pair of shorts for working out, 2 thongs, a red top for clubbing, 4 tank tops... i think that is everything.

This morning I woke up with a muscle pain from my back to my neck. I can't turn head left or right. It is extremely painful. Advil is not working. I was cranky at costco this morning because of the unbareable pain. My mom gave me a massage for while and said my back felt like iron. She also commented about how much pain I must be in because she was exerting a lot of pressure and normally I would scream out in pain, but this time I could barely feel it. I do not believe this is a result of my "super workout" yesterday because it does not resemble muscle exertion/growth pain. I think I just slept in an awkward position all night long. Since Advil is not working I am going to go workout and hope that warming my body muscles and having a good stretch afterwards will loosen me up a bit.

My jaws have been bothering me again lately. But not the same way they used to bother me. I notice it especially when I eat my trailmix bars. Like my mouth and jaws feel tired and weak. They don't lock up or click like they used to (for 2 years straight) but they hurt. I have a confession to make; I devoured a lot of chocolate today. BLAH, so much for holding back.

"You see the ring before you die..." haha well I just finished watching the movie The Ring. Those dead people looked gross. I saw Kevin drop his chapstick when I flinched once. We had originally wanted to rent the musical Chicago with Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Z but to our disappointment, that isn't out for rental yet.

Yesterday I tired using the family printer which has brand new ink cartridges. The printer is an Epson --yes it matters-- the Epson is devastating in comparison to any modern day ink jet printer. For starters, the Epson makes this loud obnoxious noise for about 15 minutes before printing a faded and imcomplete document. Brand new cartridges I tell you!! It has never worked well since the very first time we used it. We should have returned that piece of rubbish. I have cleaned the heads and realligned the damn thing so many times it is not even funny. Try printing a simple 1 page non-graphic text document and having the printer malfunction every time. YES everytime... and yes.. ever since the first time we used it. A salesman at Best Buy told me that most ink jet printers have the head on the printer and have alcohol based ink and therefore tend to clog or dry out quickly. Without me even asking, he described the problem with which most inkjet printers have with extremely familiar detail. Ironic that he used his son's Epson as an example. However, Hewlett Packard and Lexmark (which also manufacture others such as Compaq) have new heads on each cartridge (helpful so that you don't have to clean the head all the time) and have something like a graphite (may be something else - i honestly forgot) based ink so that it doesn't dry out. I am definitely not a fan of our Epson ink jet printer, it is the most horrible peice of junk we own. Anything beats the Epson, heck, I even plugged in my old compaq printer (given to me by gary freshman year - that would be in 1998) and it still prints perfectly well. The brand new Lexmark all-in-one that I purchased at the beginning of this month has kept me very satisfied. Just a bit of geeky info for those of you who are in the market for a new printer.

I also just signed up for Friendster, that site is so slow and buggy. I get fed up and frustrated with using it. If the hosts/programmers don't fix it soon, I might stop using it.

Today I am supposed to have a super workout. I just have this urge to push myself hard today. Hope my weekend is full of joy...

Chris just left SD to go back to Santa Barbara for summer school and work. He was home for the last 5 days. He just got Monopoly Party for PS2 and so we've been having some fun with that.

I finally found out that SDSU does not offer an official Graduate student orientation. I knew something fishy was up when I saw on the schedule "how to graduate in 4 years" and "know your general education requirements." Yeah, not something I need to know. So I will most probably forego signing up for the orientation and try to see if I can learn more about the campus and how to sign up for classes another way. Well I would make this blog longer but I'm going out now...

It is graduation week and Father's Day weekend. Sweet memories of my gradutating year @ Davis fill my thoughts when I hear about graduation. Where does commencement take place? Most ceremonies are held at the Rec Hall which means gym goers can't workout there these next couple days. Funny how that comes to mind. What I definitely miss the most is the atmosphere of the Rec Hall; nothing beats a good sweat while surrounded by your peers in your comfort zone. Unlike membership gyms or even the gym @ HKUST, the Rec Hall is filled with people your own age... Here is to those familiar nameless gymaholics that used to line up outside the rechall in the dark at the crack of dawn. Here is to those of you who I could motivate to go to the Rec Hall on occassion (hope you're staying fit!!). Gary has been attending graduation ceremonies thus telling me about them. I hear they are still same old same old. I need to make a trip up to Northern Cali some time this summer. I haven't been back to Davis/Sac since my graduation ceremony and moving out of the Saratoga Apartment almost exactly 1 year from today. I hear people are still going to Cantina on Thursday nights and the Grad friday nights. Fun fun. Chris should be home tonight and for a couple of days. Finals are over, however summer school begins shortly. This afternoon I went to my cousin Lisa's Vocal Recital. It was interesting, it was the first time I went to hear her sing live. I've heard her CD.

I've been feeling lethargic and sleepy this week. My lack of sleep is probably catching up with me. Starting my work outs since Tuesdays have been challenging due to my lack of energy. I hope to get enough rest this weekend so that this coming week I will be full of energy.

I look forward to checking out the recreation facilities SDSU has to offer...

My main website might be down on and off this week because I have been doing some major construction on it this week. I've been deleting old pages, adding new pages, creating new backgrounds etc.. BTW, my old blogs are now accessible through the archives because I have republished some of the ones. So far I love my new all in one Lexmark. I have not attempted to print a photograph yet because I have not decided which picture is worth printing.

I have yet to watch my tape of the MTV movie awards. I wonder if it was actually interesting. I've been quite disappointed in the past by their lame jokes and parodies. This year I look forward to seeing the Charlie's Angels Full Throttle parody. I'll probably watch the tape this evening while I use the precor.

Today at Costco I was seriously considering purchasing the standard 42" Morey Board.. because it is so much cheaper than the custom one that I want.

My dad left San Diego early this morning to go back to Hong Kong. He'll be back later this summer as always. I'm glad he woke me up at 6am because I wanted the chance to say bye again. He's amazing, I wonder how he does it...

I have the absolute worst luck with my blog, or maybe I just get too distracted with other things. Anyway, I have started serveral blogs but have not finished any of them, hence none of them have been posted. Usually they get deleted or lost because while surfing the internet I click on a link and it opens the new page on my current blog. Therefore when I press 'back' to return to my blogger browser, all is lost. As you can see, it has been quite a while since my last entry.

Last night I bought a new Lexmark all-in-one printer, scanner, copier. I had so much fun playing with it that I pulled an all nighter without thinking about it. I took a short nap after I saw the sun coming up. The good news is I have updated my website now.

On the workout front, we're not proud owners of a precor 5.21i. For the last two days I have been concentrating on my abs and they are sore today! Well, my buns are sore too, I 'performed' the buns section on the Cindy Crawford workout video (yes, its a very old video from the 80s I believe, i have owned it for quite some time now) a couple times yesterday. I have yet to purchase and try the Winsor Pilates workout. All in good time.

As for my search for the perfect board... still looking. I am being incredibly picky so in the mean time I'll keep using Chris' board.
